YES, boys & girls, the new Black Sabbath album with Ozzy sounds like Black Sabbath.

No Bill Ward, by his own choice (drums are courtesy of former Rage Against The Machine member Brad Wilk).

But there is no shortage of Tommi Iommi riffs or solos, and Ozzy is almost subdued in comparison to some of the excesses of his solo career. When you put it on, it sounds like you're listening to a Sabbath album, not former Sabbath members trying to sound like Sabbath again.

Between this, Steven Wilson, and the new Queens Of The Stone Age, choosing a rock album of the year will be extremely difficult!

...the album sounds like a Sabbath album, though. There are plenty of Iommi riffs and leads and other than "G.I.D." there are several places where you will go "oh YEAH."
