48 degrees this morning in Western, New York.
We've had nothing but mid-seventies temperatures and 4.5" of rain for the month already...
Tomorrow's forecast is half to three-quarters of rain with temperatures next week much of the same.
I have a quarter acre of property I haven't been able to mow this year yet due to being under 6" of water, unfortunately where our firepit sits. Havent had a fire yef this year...
The clutches of Spring just won't let go...

(31,517 posts)After a long spring, summer has come upon us. At 5:00 am, it's 76°F with an expected high of 91°F. There's a slight chance of rain, but I'll have to water my flowers again today, I'm sure.

(4,915 posts)It's a good thing we didn't plant our tomatoes, they would have been drowned & our pool is 72 degrees. Weather is atricious.

Yuck!

(22,144 posts)Sunny, but more Spring like than approaching summer. Chance of rain from tomorrow and most of the week, too.

(717 posts)Only had to have my AC on 3 times so far, we are having a lovely day bright and sunny 67 right now, I think its perfect. We need the water so the rains have not bothered me, I wish it would stay this way all summer long.

(21,925 posts)I think we've had even less than half the usually sparse amount of precipitation this past year. It's dry.

(41,984 posts)We all get a little nuts about this time of year, screaming "WHERE IS THE SUN??? THEY PROMISED ME SUN!!!!" It comes out about mid July and we get all gooey about how nice it is here until about mid-october, when the damned thing goes away for another 9 months.

(36,286 posts)along the south shore of Lake Ontario. Instead of snow, we'll get rain all winter followed by a cool summer, just like Seattle. I always wanted to live somewhere with this weather. Sounds strange, i know, but I can't take sunlight or heat!

(11,065 posts)This is so weird. We usually jump right from winter into summer. We had a few days of summer weather toward the end of May, so I set up my pool in the backyard. And immediately this crap cool weather with tons of rain set in and has been lasting weeks.

Our weather is indeed getting stranger, and unpredictable.
Couldn't have anything to do with our human behaviour,
could it?

(4,056 posts)Living here by the ocean in SF, I will see gray days encased in drippy fog till the end of August. I have the heater on right now--in fact I use it more in the summer than the winter.
But the diff is: I expect this from my summer. The weather patterns here aren't weird or unusual at all. You all live where there're actual seasons, so you have a reasonable expectation of a real summer.
Hope you get it soon. And remember, it ain't summer till the 21st and solstice!
