Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsSo I have had my new teeth for a month
and it seems like I am just now at the stage where I can eat more normally. I always took for granted the ability to eat a burger the way everyone else does. At first, I was reluctant to eat because I didn't want stuff on the roof of my mouth. I know crazy huh?
Fried Chicken was tricky at first but now I can eat it without pulling it off the bone. Corn on the Cob was a bit more tricky but I love that it doesnt' get between my teeth like it used to.
My Crohn's has been flaring pretty badly this week. I have had to take the last two days off work, but it is infinitely better than it has been.
Once the flare up is over, I am going to try to eat a taco the way everyone else does.
I knew there would be an adjusting time but did not realize how much of an adjustment it would be. I still have a couple of spots where my gums are sore but not nearly like at first.
The biggest issue I have now is sometimes when I am chewing the "suction" comes loose and my teeth move when I am chewing. What is the best way to correct this?

(149,719 posts)I'm glad that you're getting used to them, and eating better...
Alas, I have no idea how to keep them from coming loose. I hope someone will have some suggestions.

(30,947 posts)from moving would be to use a dental adhesive such as Poligrip or Seabond. I don't have dentures yet, but the time is coming soon. I have upper fixed and low fixed bridges that came out. I am trying to delay the inevitable, so I have have been using Poligrip to hold them in.

(2,015 posts)One of the foods that was hardest for me to get used to eating was salad. I'm lucky I didn't choke to death when I first got my new teeth.
I like the little adhesive strips (I think it's poligrip but I'm not sure, it's a purple box), they hold the teeth and there's no mess or ooziness.

(2,015 posts)but I'm so much happier now. It has been a couple of years for me and I smile so much more now and I'm not afraid to laugh. I have so much more confidence. Good luck but don't worry you'll adjust.

(31,997 posts)I was so ashamed of my teeth, afraid people would judge when I had no control over it. I hated my mouth.
Sometimes I still want to take the "plate" out and chuck it, but overall, I do like my smile!
