You put HEAVY BRICKS on that plastic bowl, that's what you do. Then put a fence around it so nobody kicks it over accidentally.

And then, you wait. For as long as it takes.

I had woken up after the first 2 nights with itching bite marks all over my arms, I like to sleep with my arms outside of the blankets - took me awhile to figure it out that it was the spiders I saw now and then scooting across my living room floor.

Although I do not like chemicals much, found a spray - called "Raid Max" - "Spider Blaster"

Followed the directions closely, spraying around the edges that I figured they were coming from, doing so only when I planned to leave the house to go to town (I am very sensitive to chemicals)

It worked, no more spiders.

I love them actually; they're fascinating creatures that help us out. The only time I'll kill - brown recluse or black widow in the house.

FYI - a 4 inch phone book dropped on top of a scorpion and left overnight WILL NOT kill it. All that does is make it mad as hell! You can probably imagine my horror when, in the light of day, I picked up the phone book.

but they're toast when they venture inside. As for giant spiders on the ceiling or on the toilet? HELL. NO.

I didn't kill them; caught them and let them loose outside. But I will admit I had a hard time sleeping that night.

They would have been in an egg sac she carried around until they hatched.

That toilet had a smaller large spider near the back of the seat, as well as the huge one the guy was trying to flush.

I like spiders as long as I can assist them outside, though I did kill 13 black widows last July because I didn't want the population to explode in the back yard. If you want to see where black widows live outside, go out with a flashlight at night and look down, two feet high and lower. Around here they emerge and sit on their webs at night.
