I crack myself up.

(5,946 posts)the dog or the cat?
OrwellwasRight
(5,170 posts)the cat and dog families broke off from a common ancestor -- the Miacidae -- about 48 million years ago, so it's hard to say.
However, I'm gonna go with cat to explain the fact that dogs always seem like they are one step behind their feline brethren.

(5,170 posts)Those were dark days my friend. Liberals, walking around in a sea of agony, listening to lies about WMDs and Orwellian-named bills like Healthy Forests and No Child Left Behind, with nowhere to turn without hearing "you're either with us, or you're with the terrorists." And also hearing things like "There's an old saying in TennesseeI know it's in Texas, probably in Tennesseethat says, 'Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again.'"
And then came DU!!
The truth is I can't conceive of a time before the universe existed. Because what came before that? And then what came before that? And so on. Therefore, there can't have been a time before the universe existed.
So, while you ponder that answer, watch this:

(7,699 posts)almost ten years now...ten in October, but I was lurking for many months before that.
I have just over 5000 posts but should have been more like 2500, LOL.
In 2003, DU was my place to find some sanity and intelligence in a world that
seemed to have lost both of those things.
It still is, sometimes, but mostly these days I go to the Lounge looking for a laugh
or two, and for MFM's posts.
OrwellwasRight
(5,170 posts)Much more hostile than back in the early days. But the Lounge will always be great, even if some of my OPs sink to the bottom without ever garnering so much as a single response.
We can't all be MFM or SCE, I guess. But we can aspire.

(5,170 posts)I guess some of these young whippersnappers who have been members for 2 years and have 12,000 posts make me feel a little inadequate.
But who needs comparisons, right?
