(220 posts)Hi,
The first time I saw him in concert was an incredible experience. It is still in the top 2 or 3 Greatest concerts I ever saw. I went to a few more of his shows when he was in town. Greatness at it's best.
We should never forget those that were different & out of the ordinary for they have changed History in ways the average person can not understand.

Ironically, The Grand Wazoo is one of my favorite albums of all time. I bet I'm still listening
to it in its entirety about once a week.

It might be out there, but I'm not seeing it. There's probably some genius somewhere cranking out music like that in anonymity without the benefit of marketing.

He was waiting in the atrium waiting for his food, and i stopped to tell him how much i liked his "Shut and Play . . ." series of albums.
He started chatting and when the watier came, he asked the waiter to take my order and get me some flatware and coffee.
So, i sat there talking with him about this and that for about an hour.
That was fun.

(4,441 posts)but I always hated his music. I wish I could understand why people like it, I really do. I talk to friends who love Zappa and I still walk away thinking "man, I hate that music."

(6,286 posts)I'm also an enormous Rush fan, so I'm used to everyone hating the music I like.
Regarding Zappa however, his catalog is so diverse and spans so many genres that I'd be shocked if you hated all of it.
