Northern clubs were like American clubs -- Harleys and big Nortons and Triumphs
and such. You wouldn't be able to tell the bikes nor the riders from the ones here.
.
.
Southern? Sometimes the biggest bike was a 450cc -- lots of fully chopped mopeds
and scooters -- high sissy bars and fully extended forks and the occasional
ape-hangers. They wore full colors and you could see chromed, spiked Kaiser
helmets now and then. They were pretty much laughable.
.
We got into a disagreement with them at a bar and apologized and went back to
our preoccupation with the pretty women there. One wasn't satisfied and came
back and started crowding the biggest medic among us. Our medic eventually
hit him with one punch, laying him out. Surprise of all surprises, the bouncers came
over and threw the "biker" out.
.
We almost panicked -- how were we going to get out of the parking lot with a
bunch of angry bikers after us?
.
One of them came over and apologized profusely. We magnanimously told him
that they were safe -- we would overlook their friend's rude behavior.

Were they in the Burnet road area? I'll keep my eyes open for them.
