Once the most popular casino game in America at the end of the 19^th century...Faro is only played in a handful of casinos today for three reasons:

1.) Nobody knows how to play anymore. Which is silly as it's a game designed to be so simple as to be easily understood by illiterates, the mathematically-challenged and the uneducated. It's basically a matching game.

2.) Its credibility as a fair-wager at its heyday was poor as cheating and dishonest Faro banks were rampant.

3.) The odds are variable based on the wager but generally don't vary much from 50/50 between any single punter (player) and the bank. (the dealer or the house)

I love playing roulette but it's like 5% in the house favor with a double zero wheel. Even betting just black or red isn't 50/50, as there are two greens to take your cash.

But it's fun, low bet min, just put winnings in your pocket so you leave with something.

We never take more money than we can afford to loose. The last time we went (about a week ago) we took $500 and with dinner, gas and everything else we paid for we came home with $20 more than we left with. Had lots of fun.
