The late Josie (our dog)...

Last edited Fri Jul 5, 2013, 12:26 AM - Edit history (1)

I was going through my photobucked pics deleting tons of junk when I came across a bunch of pics of our late great Josie. We sadly didn't take a lot of pics and didn't appreciate her as much as we should have when she was alive. I wish I had a dog now, can't get one quite yet. She was a pound save and the gentlest dog you could ever hope for, not a mean bone in her body. She was a Labrador / Doberman mix:

Sadly she developed cancer in one of her hind legs and had to have it amputated. She lived happily on 3 legs for about a year but the cancer returned and we eventually had to put her down. These last few pics were taken during her final few days. You can see that she was in pain. The reason she is eating from the raised bowl is because she couldn't bend down at this point due to a massive tumour in her stomach:

months. Let him out one night and a car got him. I was so upset I couldn't get another cat. Then I thought: why not a fully grown cat. So I got Monster and it was fine. Monster was his own cat. Totally different personality than Mickey. So there was no conflict/pain in my heart from day one. You should not be afraid of getting a new pup. There is so much room in our hearts.

Isn't that I feel I can't emotionally. It's because I still live at home with my parents and my mother is dead set against it. She LOVES dogs but refuses to get another one due to the fact that she says it's not fair to the dog. She's paranoid about keeping the carpets clean and so wouldn't want to let the dog onto the rugs, relegating the dog to a small part of the house that is hard wood. That would indeed not be fair to the dog. When I move out I'll get one

I am so sorry for your loss.

Thank you for giving Josie a loving home. When you are ready, there will be a new doggie for you to love.

at the local shelter. It could be just this local one, but the last few times I've visited they only have 1 or 2 dogs. Year ago when we went there were always at least 5 or 6.
