Of course, they had me at "running from gross zombies".

But I do think the story develops over time. The way all of the characters are changed by what they are going through is explored in an interesting manner.

The zombies are an ever-present threat, but there are others.

I don't want to say anything that would spoil it for you, but if you watch 2-3 episodes a day you'll do okay.

Season 2 was criticized for being a bit slow, but if you watch a couple of episodes a day the pace seems okay. At least to me.

I rewatched season 1 and 2 last month.

Just... just don't get too attached to any one character. Nobody's safety is assured.

I missed the first half hour of episode one. So who shot the deputy? Was it the wife's lover?

Surprisingly, it wasn't a 7-Eleven hot dog.

Deputy Grimes was shot in a shootout with three felons being chased by either the state police or the deputies from a neighboring county.

The report was that there were 2 felons in the car. They spike-stripped it, IIRC, the two guys came out shooting, Rick took a shot to the vest, the two criminals were gunned down, and while everybody was rushing to see how Rick was, a third guy crawls out of the wrecked car and shoots him where the vest doesn't protect.

The color version is good... the way the process the film (or the recording filter) gives a nice moody aura to the whole thing.

I didn't realize there were two versions. Considering how gory it is, I can't say as I miss the color.

They are asking for trouble. That blond woman hanging out with her sister's corpse all night was nuts. Now they have a zombie in the trailer they need to shoot in the head and be done with it.

The walkers eat animals, but they don't become zombies? In Resident Evil everything bitten became a zombie.
