We had 7 straight days of temps over 105. Even in the mornings it was starting at around 80.
Early this am the breeze kick in and it's a cool 66 degrees. Should be 15 to 20 degrees cooler.

on the 4th of July...
1. A record high temperature of 112 degrees was tied at
the Red Bluff Airport today. The old record was set in 1970.
2. A record high temperature of 110 degrees was tied in downtown
Sacramento today. The old record was set in 1991.
3. A record high temperature of 109 degrees was tied at
Sacramento Executive Airport today. The old record was
set in 1991.
In addition, record warm minimum temperatures were set in Redding,
with a low of 84; Red Bluff, also with a low of 84; Stockton, with a
low of 75. Downtown sacramento's low of 75 tied the old record high
minimum.
Also special note: downtown Sacramento tied an all-time
record high of 7 consecutive days of 105 degrees or higher
for a maximum temperature... which was set Aug 5th -11th
in 1990.

(36,439 posts)It usually kicks in late afternoons and runs through the evening, only to abate by morning. In any event, here's hoping this delta breeze hangs around for awhile.
I live two blocks from the public fireworks and the smell of sulfur was heavy for hours last night. I sure could have used that breeze last night.

(20,886 posts)I went to Benicia for the fireworks yesterday and thought my chair was going to blow away. And I was sitting in it. Did cool things off a mite, though.
