(60,022 posts)We are finishing up photography for my tomato book - so the photographer (still here) and I spend full days - of course, as luck would have it, during one of the most challenging tomato seasons around here ever - so much disease, fruit ripening late or ugly.....today we start looking through nearly 5000 (five thousand!) pics and assigning tags and labels - chapter, tomato variety, etc.....
quite an ordeal, but after this week, it will be down to the assembling and editing part by the editor (and I assume lots of to and fro emails!)....
So I will arrive at Friday night stressed, exhausted...and relieved!
(tomorrow my wife's plan is for us to start painting some room walls.....at least it is a complete change of pace! I am totally tomato-ed out!)

Monday morning I sweltered in 95° weather thanking my lucky stars because the two sheriffs were late for our appointment to move a bridge beam.

We (Jeff R and I) were interviewed by channel 13 news. I thought it might have been replaced by another story until Mr ITW greeted me at the door saying my in-laws called staring they had called with the news ... I was on TV. One SUV was squished. Someone was airlifted out to a hospital. The excellent news is: everyone lived through this one. It seems like that stretch of highway has claimed many lives over the years.
