Blurred Lines...love it, hate it, meh?

I'll confess. I think it's adorable. There's a lot of talk about objectification but fantasy is objectifying, and this is pure silly funny fantasy. And hot. And catchy. And I think it's an offshoot of Fifty Shades, the "Good Girl" that wants to be bad.

And if you want some real look up the unrated version and the gender swap version, which is damn near as good as the original and very funny/sexy.

but the music style is totally 70's. I love it.

I also think they are making fun of the genre.

I mean, no one is talking force, they're talking teasing about getting over inhibition. Those inhibitions are often wise and should remain in place but fantasizing about losing them is ubiquitous. And certainly fantasizing about being the one who could cause that is. It's a lot like Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young" for the current age.

This is a contender for stupidest lyric ever written by a 14 year old wannabe frat boy:

"One thing I ask of you
Let me be the one you back that ass to
Go, from Malibu, to Paris, boo
Yeah, I had a bitch, but she ain't bad as you
So hit me up when you passing through
I'll give you something big enough to tear your ass in two"

I just want to shove the idiot off a bridge.

Maybe I'm old but I find it kind of quaint, if you can call those risqué lyrics quaint. Reminds me of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love, but sillier.

Can't post from a mobile but it does make one think, and chuckle.

I'm not a pop lover in general myself but good pop like good everything is fun, and this is the epitome of pop being pop.

... but I probably wouldn't want any tween children of mine (if I had them) to be singing/emulating it. It's definitely an 'adult fun' song.

Moms and Dads would so well to either forbid (yeah, right) or explain a whole lot about what they're saying and what is and isn't real or within their personal bounds.

Absolutely abhor the genre of music... the lyrics sound like something Zappa would have written to mercilessly satirize the genre, but I think these knuckleheads are somewhat in earnest with it... but I love pretty much anything that tweaks the nipples of the finger wagging crowd...
