Ellen's '07 monolog at the Oscars. She's hosting next yr.

I always watch it but have NO memory that she had hosted before. And in this link, she has a joke on the magnificent Peter O'TOOLE, who takes it, well, magnificently. And one on President GORE, likewise.

She's so low key, I didn't think she'd be that good at it, but she gave me some actual belly laughs.

[Tuesday Afternoon]

1. I think she will do a great job. Laid back and quick with a come back is what is

needed for the emcee. I think Bob Hope and David Letterman were best but, Ellen is right up there with them.

2. Dave is said to have bombed, but I liked the Oprah-Uma thing. What about Billy CRYSTAL?

I thought he was pretty much second to HOPE. LENO's never done it, has he, and I hope he never does. I don't see how he has beaten Dave all these years. And I hope that Jimmy FALLON never does it, I just do NOT GET what the big deal is about him, have only been able to take doses of him for like a couple/few minutes, and he irritates me even more now that he has settled-in to being secure. Seth MEYERS is great.

did I confuse him with Letterman? I thought they asked Letterman back and he turned them down.

I don't like coHosts for the show. Too Frenetic.
