Not at Race Point. These are actually sunsets. Like in the evening, when the sun goes down DFW Aug 2013 #10

But I though it was too good a shot to not try for it.

As for Mrs.: She's like the American Express card. I never leave home without her.

Well, not EXACTLY like the American Express card. I often leave home without it.
There are a few other differences as well................

He was the one who pushed for the Cape Cod National Seashore to become a protected part of the National Park system.

His foresight preserved a part of our country and protected it from overdevelopment, thus saving it for generations to come. At the entrance to the Race Point parking lot, there is a Park Ranger booth that controls entrance to the national seashore. It is unmanned in the evening, and so people without stickers can enjoy the sunset along with the paying park visitors. There were still plenty of empty spaces in the parking lot to remind us of how many poor souls there were on the Outer Cape who had no idea what they were missing.

I was just there this time last week. We spent a week on the Cape for vacation. It was lovely and I already miss it.

Cape sunsets are amazing

Have you been to Mayflower Beach and walked way out into the bay at sunset? One of my favorite memories.

Thank you!

If you get a chance, a sunset on the west coast is one of the most beautiful things ever.

Key West, FL is another place for great sunsets over the water,

Hope to see some west coast sunsets when I visit my daughter in LA in October.

Look at a detailed map of the tip of Cape Cod. Provincetown and Race Point are so far out that the mainland cannot be seen from the outermost tip of the Cape, and the sun really does set over the water. I'm sure a few people on the west coast of Florida could tell you the same thing.

We don't spend a lot of time in California, but we've spent enough time in Hawai'i to know that the sunsets there are pretty spectacular, too. Same goes for the western coast of Mahé in the Indian Ocean. Sea sunsets can be breathtaking almost anywhere, but when the sea is flat and there are seals frolicking about 20 feet away offshore, it's a bonus for sure. There weren't any whales this time, but they sometimes come close to the shore at Race Point, too.
