Harrison Ford: Indiana Jones could return

Harrison Ford tells John Hiscock that it would be "perfectly appropriate" for him to make a comeback as Indiana Jones at the age of 71.

He may be 71 years old but Harrison Ford hasn't given up the idea of retuning as Indiana Jones in a fifth adventure.

"We've seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it's perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn't necessarily have to kick as much ass," he told me when we talked at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

"To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed to survive. That I can do."

Another Indiana Jones film would make a lot of sense financially: the previous adventure, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, in 2008, grossed almost $800 million on a budget of $185 million.

If there is another, he should be the 'consulting expert' for his son/student the 'new Indiana Jones' kinda like how Sean Connery played his dad. A graceful exit from the franchise, as it were.

JMHO.

And why they dumped Karen Allen I'll never understand. They had great charisma; her character was a perfect match for his. The next 2 were awful without her; frankly an embarassment. They should have kept her character and her individually, and beefed her role up as well. I was glad they finally brought her back, but it was waaaaay too little and too late.

Not interested in seeing any more in this series. The 1st was and will always be far and away the best. They blew it totally with the next 2. Imho, of course

Are they going to morph him into that eye-patched, Ancient Mariner-style Indy from the TV series?

Enough is enough...

At best, the most I could say for those series of movies, starting with the first one, is "meh". The older I got the stupider they got. Way too much of an uber escapist, action, action, action vibe to it.
