impromptu camping trip!

husband has a short day today and no work tomorrow, so we're going to head up to the mountains for a few nights. i was hoping we'd be able to get away for the meteor shower, i'm just hoping the weather holds.

my in-laws sent us their old pickup and it has a bed topper, so all we have to do is throw an air mattress in the back and we're set. i think i've got everything packed up that i can and we'll hit the grocery store on the way out of town to get the rest.

now if only my husband would get home!

Hope the weather holds for you too. What type of camping? Wilderness camping. Gravel Pad + tent / RV? Other?

Looks like the I'm going to get a close brush with some rain for my camping trip but it should't last more than a day or so, touch wood.

13. air mattress in the back of a pickup on some forest service land

it's a little spot we've used before, but this time there was a family with four kids and a couple with the LOUDEST WOMAN I'VE HEARD.

Did you get to see any of the Perseids meteor shower? Too bad about the loud mouth lol. When you say forest service land I'm assuming this is a common camping site, otherwise quite a coincidence that you happened to run into another group.

15. we saw a few

but not many. i don't know if maybe we weren't staying up late enough, but i caught a few good ones.

the site is commonly enough used that there are a couple fire pits, but i'd never noticed the pits until i saw someone else use them and there weren't any other people up there the last time we went there.
