Saw a triple, full rainbow today, a firefly swarm and a huge meteor

Should have dubbed this natural phenomenon day...

1. Saw a full, triple rainbow driving my daughter's friends home.

2. Saw a really surreal firefly storm at a huge old cemetery... few fireflies in the surrounding woods, but hundreds and hundreds of dancing light playing amid the tombstones.

3. Just now saw the largest meteor I have seen in years... covered nearly 75% of the sky leaving a straight-line trail.

But maybe the best, my oldest daughter turned 18!

Anyway, a really cool day.

Except there may have been very little ambient light due to teeny sliver of waxing moon. I see in your profile that you're a photographer, did you capture any photos?

Are you going to wake up early on Sunday, Monday, &/or Tuesday morning to see the Perseid meteor showers?

Happy B-day to your oldest daughter! I hope she was in on some of the magic, too!

I would have loved to have seen the fireflies in particular since I haven't seen any in over a decade.

Happy Birthday to your daughter!

I wanted to break into that song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow." I just wish that I had a video camera back then. That was a beautiful sight.
