No matter how old I get. Today we are in Alabama for my grandmothers funeral. I drove down from North Carolina (13 hours). My dad had made hotel
reservations for everyone. I didn't find out until we all got back to the hotel that I was supposed to share their room. First of all, who does this? And secondly,
if he had asked, I would have made my own arrangements. I did tell him that I preferred to have a room to myself, so I do and I will pay him back if he wants.
It's just that this is going to be stressful enough without any place for me to unwind.

(6,154 posts)I'm fucking 31! Bad habit of mine and related to my emotional stunted development I guess. Some of it may come from being 1/2 Chinese but my father is the white side of the family.

(6,113 posts)I was in my 30's and we'd have serious political and religious discussions. We went out together a lot. The thing is, she didn't treat me like I was a kid so I never had to feel like a kid around her. She's been gone for seven years now and I still miss my friend every day.

(46,179 posts)Of course, I always was. I've been parenting my parent my whole life.
With my own adult sons, I'm happy to let them take charge most of the time. It's a blessed relief from that responsibility.
