with violin and elves!
Its a tenor ocarina. I like the sound lots better than that of the soprano ocarina.
My twenties-something granddaughter's birthday is coming up, and I'm thinking of buying her this ocarina. I always buy her something musical for her birthday.

(12,153 posts)graduated college and hopes to be a music teacher. I think she'll be good at it. When she was here visiting a few weeks ago, she showed me how to play the didgeridoo. What a hoot. Literally.
I think she somewhat resembles the ocarina player in the video.

(12,153 posts)also kind and caring and a Democrat, of course. In some ways she too is a bit of a nerd, so I think the Zelda style would appeal to her.

(37,997 posts)I bought a ceramic ocarina for blogslut jr a super long time ago but I think it came from that company. Her ocarina was a darker blue and with a little less detail than the "potato" model, listed on the site, but it was/is lovely. I still have it.

(12,153 posts)Her birthday isn't till October, so there is no huge rush.
I'd been planning on a 12-hole ceramic Zelda-style (transverse) tenor ocarina because I'm not crazy about plastic, and I've read that clay absorbs and dampens the sound, but when I heard the plastic ocarina in the video, I thought it sounded good. Still, I'd rather buy a ceramic ocarina, so I appreciate the link. Thanks again!
