The DU Lounge

I'd reconnected with an old friend I hadn't seen in about 30 years.
He came for a visit.
I said I'd pick him up at the airport.
The morning of his arrival I thought 'Damn, I haven't see Dave in over 30 years. What if I don't recognize him? What if he doesn't recognize me? We've in our 60s and we've aged a lot.'
And then the idea came.
I dressed in a quasi chauffeur's cap (my old black airline hat, minus the TWA badge), white short sleeved shirt, black Bermuda shorts, black knee socks and black shoes.
Wore very dark wraparound shades.
I held a piece of cardboard with his last name on it.
"Mr. Jones"
It had been a long time since we'd met face-to-face.
I barely recognized him as he walked up to me.
"I'm Mr. Jones."
I used a British accent.
"Mr. Jones, Mr. trof sends his regrets, but he was unavoidably called away to a meeting and is unable to meet you. I will take you to his home. He will meet you there as soon as possible. Please follow me."
I took his suitcase and walked out of the concourse ahead of him.
"Do you have any checked luggage?"
"No, just this."
HE BOUGHT IT!
When we got to my car I opened the back door (as any good chauffeur would) and then whipped off the shades and cap and said "Hi, Dave. It's ME!"
He laughed his ass off till we were half way home.
