(6,154 posts)The cat is like:
"HAY, hay hold on a sec this isn't the way it's supposed to go. Hay back off, BACK OFF! W.T.F. I'm a cat, you are a bird it's not supposed to work this way!"
The dog is just thinking:
"Yumm Duck a l'orange + a side of cat" Drool.

(2,560 posts)If any of the cats looked "interested", she would stand upright, open her wings and flap them. They can make a quite intimidating noise and the wind generated is quite forceful. And they are quite a sizeable bird when "displaying". Our cats soon knew who was the boss.
She used to bring her ducklings in for us to see. One day, three of our cats were lying in the son and she walked through the triangle of cats with 6 ducklings in tow. The ducklings looked worried, but Mama knew nothing would happen.
She was quite friendly, particularly towards me. Don't know why, but she always sought me out (my SIL used to say she was in love with me). If the back door was open and I wasn't sitting outside, she'd actually come in the house looking for me.

(6,154 posts)I've heard some other stories about ducks being really quite aggressive and assertive. And I know for a fact that the Canada Geese here can be down right nasty at times
