I love Crows and the latest research is astonishing.

Recent research has found some crow species capable of not only tool use but also tool construction[2] and meta-tool use. Crows are now considered to be among the world's most intelligent animals[3] with an encephalization quotient approaching that of some apes. The Jackdaw and the European Magpie have been found to have a nidopallium approximately the same relative size as the functionally equivalent neocortex in chimpanzees and humans, and significantly larger than is found in the gibbon.[4]

I have had crows stay with me for MANY hours at a time, just above and in front me, pacing at EXACTLY the same rate, in the same place, as if in formation. They stopped when I stopped and talked to me when I started up again.

I love crows, they are SPECTACULAR animals.

And, they are great company on the bicycle in the middle of nowhere.

I don't believe in animal spirit guides, but if I did, the Crow would be mine.

Mebbe they are mine whether I believe or not.

when I worked at McDonald's there was a crow that would land in the parking lot around 5 a.m. to pick up the fries that were always found spilled there.

He was smart enough to know that if he picked them up a certain way he could fit 4 or 5 pieces in his mouth. It was funny seeing his beak crammed full of fries.

While I was looking at these crow shots my African Grey, Pidge, who is looking from her cage over my left shoulder, let out a loud "CAW!" She loves crows! Whenever I open the door to our little city deck she caws, knowing they're out there. When we lived further out she used to echo the whole wonderful drama of crow babies chasing their parents around begging to be fed, always ending with the gobbling sound they made when their little beaks were stuffed full of something.

And as I've posted before, she instantly fell in love with the Ravens on GofT, and for a while (she seems to have lost it because they haven't shown them in a while) whenever the show came on and the theme played she'd do the deep Raven caw.

Birds. They rock.
