Bra Sizes Of Detroit Female Cops Mistakenly Emailed To Entire Detroit Police Department

D'oh!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/13/detroit-police-bra-cup-sizes_n_3750428.html

An assistant police commander in Detroit was recently busted for a mistake that has already created humiliating consequences for his female officers.

The embarrassing reveal surfaced as the department was ordering new bulletproof vests for its officers. While men's and women's vests both act as protective shields, the vests for females are contoured to accommodate their curves. That's why female officers in the DPD submitted their cup sizes, along with their height and weight.

When the vests were ready, Commander Dwayne Love (yes, his real name) forwarded an email with an attached Excel spreadsheet to his fellow commanders, according to WJBK-TV. That Excel spreadsheet contained the female officers' intimate personal information -- including their bra sizes. The commanders forwarded the email on to DPD supervisors, who then sent that email to every member of the rank-and-file.

Female members of the beleaguered city's police force aren't laughing. Some sources told WJBK-TV that the officers have faced ridicule and harassment from their male counterparts. Two women have already filed a grievance against the department, Detroit Police Department Association President Mark Diaz confirmed to the Detroit News.

And all this time I thought DPD's lousy response time was because they were understaffed. Guess they were... otherwise occupied.

isn't good, but on the other hand, they're cops. They have probably subjected other people to much worse, or at least turned a blind eye to much worse.

I kinda feel like anyone seriously troubled by this probably has no business being a police officer -- but then I am a guy so I am no doubt missing something.

... for bulletproof vests. A chest measurement and waist measurement, and maybe some sort of length measurement (from shoulder to waist perhaps) should be more useful. These aren't exactly fitted like a bra or anything.
