When I heard this song in the show "Breaking Bad", my jaw dropped - Tommy James was an interesting performer and the song was perfect for several reasons. First, James battled a big amphetamine problem, which he kicked. Secondly, he broke into the music business in no small way due to the mobs connections in the record industry. (He has a book out titled "Me, the Mob, and the Music". None of which takes anything away from the wellspring of tremendous talent of Tommy James. He once was pronounced dead on stage after an o.d. - but revived to go on to give us "Crimson and Clover". Some people are just too tough to die. Enjoy this beautiful super high quality cut!

(4,734 posts)of Pittsburgh... he recorded "Hanky Panky" in 1965 in Michigan. It bombed, but a Pittsburgh D.J. got ahold of it and it was a smash at dances. 8000 copies were bootlegged, James went to Pgh to confront the record company not knowing they were mobbed up. He got lucky, instead of breaking his arms they sent him to NYC and made him a star!
