The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHi, my name is Gravitycollapse and I am addicted to buying and selling motorcycles...
Before I exclusively rode, I did the same thing with cars. Immediately after the honeymoon phase of new ownership, I need something else.
I've owned 6 cars and 3 motorcycles and I'm only 23.
If I was rich, I would probably just buy an airplane hanger and cram it full of automobiles.

(19,360 posts)I lost count along the way but it's well into double digits for cars, trucks, and bikes, but I did grow out of it. Have had the same car for ten years now.

(4,185 posts)I've had five cars in three years. I search around dealerships that will do even trades.
I too dream of a collection.

(38,302 posts)... my brother went from that to building motorcycles from salvage. They know him at the DMV and CHP inspection station. Re-registering them is tougher than rebuilding them. It's a hobby, not a moneymaking venture.
Lately he's built a few 1900's style motorcycles using those 49cc Chinese motors. Things that look like this:

I hate buying and selling cars. The beast I drive now is a mid-1980's model with a salvage title. In my utopia I wouldn't need a car.
