I'm guessing five weeks. She needs to gain weight, is very sweet, but still a little scared. She is a mess right here, after I washed her a bit. She pooped, ran in it, got upset, turned over her bowl of replacement milk, and got that on her...that's even harder to get off. She looked a little better this morning. I take a warm washcloth, and wrap her in it and gently rub...she likes it, and while it doesn't get everything off, little by little it is, and I'd rather do that that try a bath at this point. I'm in Vegas...know of anyone who wants a kitten?

(31,512 posts)I've been feeding some feral cats in hopes of taming them enough to take them in to be spayed or neutered with no luck. I just can't stand to see a skinny, hungry animal. A few of them will allow me to pet them a little bit while I am putting food down, but picking them or handling them is out of the question. Most of them will not even let me touch them and some won't even come to eat until I've disappeared back into the house.
However, this one little, non-descript gray kitten has made friends with my old cat( ), purrs when I pet her and will tolerate being held even though she wants down after just a short time. I've started calling her Matilda (don't ask me why) so I guess she has found a home. Now, to get her a litter box, introduce her into being indoors and arrange a trip to the vet.

(56,177 posts)group that can trap the ferals for you to get them taken in for fixing. That's what I do...set traps, because some of the ferals (where this litle one came from) are not at all approachable, and this is the only way you can get them.

(56,177 posts)There's no wasting, and she has a very good appetite, so she'll get bigger quickly, I think.

(56,177 posts)They were still wet when I took the photos...that was where she got most of the gunk.

(6,011 posts)She looks like a Susuwatari (dust bunnies/soot sprites) from "My Neighbor Totoro".
I wish I could sweep her up and adopt her, but my big Border collie-heeler, Sally, would make her life miserable. She nudged my old cat's butt constantly to move her about the house, until Bitty decided the laundry room was the best place to be, her bed being on top of the washer, and her dining table on the dryer.

(1,113 posts)She's such a cutie. You know she might not have made it had you not rescued her. So thank you for that. And I live in eastern PA and have a cat by the name of Miss Kitty.
