but you will be a finely turned out gentleman! Be sure to wear your flashes at the right angles and the bottom should be no lower than the top of your knees. And at least a semi-formal sporran. The Sgian Dubh is optional.

This is the sporran I ordered, but it may not be in in time, so the dealer is sending a rental as insurance. I think the rental is this one.

Personally I don't care for tassels and fur but I don't want to distract from the Groom either (He's in a great kilt or so I hear) so no fly, and it's an afternoon service.

As to the sgian dubh, I can't find the one I want in time (so far) but I'm still looking.

that is a kick-ass sgian dubh! I've been practicing at leather working so I can make my own sporran but I'm still a long ways off from anything as good as either of your linked ones. So far I have a journal cover and an ID badge holder and they look as amateur as you can imagine but I'm learning from each thing I make! I'll make my wife a purse and my daughter a cover for her tablet and I get the double bonus of them thinking I'm doing stuff for them and practice before I start my sporran lol...

But now I'm gonna be on the lookout for a wee knife like that - that is just too cool.

With a clan badge instead of the thistle. I called and they said 50/50 it will be here by the wedding. I do have a back up though.

Black: Hanoverian. If you don't have a dog in the fight, a Scottish blue one would be appropriate.

/on edit/If you belong to a clan or have a clan association, a cockade of your clan chief's coat of arms principal color and metal is also correct. For example, my clan chief's arms are three gold crowns on a red background; my cockade is red and yellow.

That'll confuse 'em.

I will keep this in mind for future reference, and will have to look up Scott. (Yes, sigh, I know it's a borderland name, but there's Sinclair and MacDowell in the mix as well)

OK, the color and metal of your clans

Scott: blue and gold (yellow)

Sinclair: black and silver (white)

MacDowell: blue and silver

I bought it when I visited Scotland many years ago. My maiden name is Stewart and my ancestors on both mother and father's sides all come from the British Isles.
