Every day after that my mailbox was flooded with offers for different insurance plans and other goods and services that might appeal to seniors and I didn't use very many of the discounts and special offers available. For me, it wasn't worth it.

I have used the discounts for many items over the last few years. The numerous junk mails go right into the shredder.

from a pure economic standpoint, I think my mom benefits from the various discounts she gets. I am sure they outweigh her membership costs. She would never spend to time looking to get them elsewhere, but I am sure many of th ediscounts you could get with a coupon code or something.

the insurance push is not all that bad. No calls if you opt out and the mail is no more being in AARP than being out of it. If you get on a senior mailing list, its insane how much you get in the mail.

The membership pays for itself many times over during the year. We don't have time to read the ads. Occasionally the magazine they send out has some interesting articles.

The husband is old enough to get it, I'm not.

They can't carry those keys by themselves.

Thanks for reminding me. I need to look for a new light for his keyboard before he sets himself on fire with his lighter.
