I know it's full of spurs.
So today I called my ortho doc's office, and made an appointment to see him. That won't happen till Thursday, but it's OK.
I took care of it, and I feel better.
I know support from him is on its way, and that has made all the difference.
Any of you experienced this sort of relief?

(10,044 posts)And my neck, back, legs, and today I just had my ears cleaned.
I asked my doctor about marijuana and he's a no-go on that. I told him that with Sanje Gupta's glowing endorsement of it that he will be prescribing it in 10 years, he said, more like 20, and I said more like 5..since some states already allow it. He's afraid of theft, but I told him that if EVERYBODY has it or can get it, more people will grow it, so who's going to steal it?
Anyway, I will continue to check into it , and you should do the same. Safer than drugs, etc.
Hang in there Peggy. We can't live forever, and who in the hell wants to anyway?

(149,614 posts)I know what I need is just to have those spurs cleaned out, and eventually that will get done.

(19,372 posts)What you're experiencing makes perfect sense to me. Due to sports and the type of work I did when younger I have a lot of old injuries with chronic pain. I always feel a little better when I know I have some firm of treatment to look forward to.
Glad you have an appointment set and best wishes for the outcome!

(149,614 posts)Alas, mine is just genes!
Eventually I'll need to replace this shoulder too, but I don't want to dedicate the amount of time necessary for that now. It's a solid 2-3 months, and it's too much.
BUT, removing the spurs will go a long way to relieving the pain. That has to wait too, since I just had a little surgery for a tumor in my cheek...
Everything in its own good time...
Thanks, sweetie...

I have a history of spur growth, and so I suspect that's what it is. My right shoulder was full of them, and so was my knee!
*sigh*
I seem to grow bony stuff.
At least I know what needs to be done.
I hope your mom found some relief. It's really hellish having shoulder pain.

(30,947 posts)My sister had spurs on her heels. She worked as a cocktail waitress and had be on her feet in heels. She eventually had to get treatment. I am not sure if she had an operation, but she was cured.

(13,812 posts)My brother used to get them in his knees. Even when he was young.
Take care Peggy.

(6,581 posts)It is often a relief just making the decision to do something, take action. Eases the psychological if not immediately the physical.
Be well, my dear. Love ya!
