Why the hell would I be okay with a robot?
As shitty as people can be, I would certainly rather deal with a human than a robot.
23 years later, and I still remember that Saturday in the theater like it was yesterday...

(13,916 posts)At least they wont be distracted by a text message or staring at some girl on the sidewalk. Or in such a hurry to get done with you and to the next fare that they go 25 over the speed. All things ive seen cabbies doing on a regular basis
So.. sure. I got nothing against robot cars
Except that I wouldn't want to put a human out of work, same as I dont do self check at the grocery store. It may not be a great job that everyone wants, and it may be doable by machinery, but till we figure out how to equalize our society a bit, people need these redundant jobs.
So.. actually probably not, on those grounds.

I want a robot-car but since I don't think I support the idea of robot-taxi because cab driving is a job I'd rather keep people in. While I support robot-cars, I'd like to go as far as requiring a human driver to apply for a taxi medallion.
