Today three states (Mississippi, Florida, and Michigan) have laws on their books against cohabitation by opposite-sex couples,[18] although anti-cohabitation laws are generally not enforced.[2] Many legal scholars believe that in light of in Lawrence v. Texas, such laws making cohabitation illegal are unconstitutional (North Carolina Superior Court judge Benjamin Alford struck down the North Carolina law as unconstitutional on that basis).[19] The Supreme Court of Virginia found the commonwealth's (unenforced) law making fornication (sex between unmarried persons) unconstitutional in Martin v. Ziherl.

So I should have been in jail many times during my lifetime in Florida.

under our bigamy statute.

Fornication is also illegal here.

And we still have a sodomy law on the books.

If they ever catch me, I'm looking at two class B misdemeanors and a third degree felony. Write to me in prison, willya?
