'Fear Factor' contestants told by NBC to shut up about canceled episode they starred in

Just when you thought reality television couldn’t get any lower … this happens.

Twins Brynne and Claire Odioso went on the current season of NBC’s popular stunt/dare game show “Fear Factor” and drank a big glass of donkey semen. But it’s not the act itself that the ladies are spewing about. It’s the fact that on Monday night the network pulled the episode – titled “Hee Haw! Hee Haw!” – and replaced it with a rerun after news of the jaw-dropping episode leaked and freaked people out.

“We are disappointed because we wanted to share the experience with our friends and family,” Brynne Odioso told Gawker.com, after calling into Tampa-based radio program The Cowhead Show and elaborating that it was the “hardest 15 minutes of (their) life.”

“If you vomited you would have to start over, I ended up just vomiting in my glass and drank that. The camera men were vomiting,” one of the twins said. “It smells. It’s so bitter, and it has a little hint of hay.”

Because ridiculous reality television shows are not at all confined to the US. Some of our reality shows have actually been imported from abroad.

When I saw this thread I was perusing some Japanese reality shows on Wikipedia. They do some bizarre stuff too. Apparently there was a competitive eating show that was canceled because somebody ended up dying.

But yeah, donkey semen is way over the top, even for this crappy show (which I've always refused to watch).

I just have to scratch my head when I think that you can't even show a woman's areola on network TV without heads exploding, yet Fear Factor can air in prime time.

or being put in a box and covered with snakes. Fine. Whatever.

But having to drink donkey semen is so far fucking over the line, you could flap your arms and fly to the moon in quicker time than it would take for them to get back to the line again.

I agree. Man, I rarely ever gag when I read about gross things, but the thought of this physically makes me gag and feel like I'm going to vomit.

But, hey, that's entertainment, right?

At least the donkey hopefully had a good time, and no cockroaches were killed in the making of...

The whole thing is a farce. But no worse than American idol, or pretty much any other reality show. Or being put in the stocks in the public square or lions fighting Christians in the Colosseum or any of the many other things we humans come up with. Shock value, laughing and enjoying the discomfort of another human. Woo.

“We are disappointed because we wanted to share the experience with our friends and family,” -- Bloody Hell!

I can't even watch American Idol because of the sympathetic embarrassment I feel for contestants who apparently lack shame themselves makes me cringe, but this is a new low in making an ass of yourself for media attention.

Yes, I meant to say ass.

Apple-infused horse semen shots might not be an obvious chaser to spring rolls, but they are causing a stir at the Green Man Pub where they are being served....

While the rest of the meal of seared Asian duck and pork and paua spring rolls sounds delicious - it is the Hoihoi tatea, or horse semen drink which is on everyone's minds.

Green Man Pub chef, Jason Varley, said the drink was proving most popular with women.

"Ladies thought it was great a couple were going to go home and get their husbands to eat grass," he said.

I know critters are milked for insemination and it might be all the same to the donkey but is it moral?

hopefully there will be a way for people to watch this episode in the future - for those who want to. Censorship sucks - if people don't like a show, they have every right not to watch it.
