by film noir master Jacques Tourneur, one of my favorite movie directors of all time. He's the guy who made truly spooky atmospheric horror films like that title as well as Cat People, The Leopard Man and the best black and white horror film ever made, Night Of The Demon. Tourneur also went on to direct the greatest film noir ever made, Out Of The Past, with Kirk Douglas and Robert Mitchum along with the fascinating and absolutely terrific "noir" Nightfall, starring Brian Keith and Aldo Ray.
