I actually dated an evangelical Christian in my younger days. We dated a long time. It was really maddening at times because I guess I was sort of agnostic. We actually had a lot of fun though. Parents were always nice and very respectful towards me. Of course we never got married, but I learned a lot about myself and other things. My brother ripped into me every chance he got!

8. I've never even met a Republican before,

nevertheless dated one. But I wouldn't mind going out with one if I happen to find her attractive enough. To me, personal politics is small stuff. There are cool people from both sides of the spectrum. I can overlook someone being a Republican, Libertarian, conservative, etc., as long as we don't discuss politics often.

We were engaged, briefly.
I suspect her family were Republicans although we never discussed politics.

I am dating a gun owning, Obama hating Republican.

BUT, we talk stuff through and we do agree on some (actually many) things. I am not a die hard Liberal.....I have an open mind and think for myself.

He really is a very nice guy....actually a sweetheart...and I don't think his political views will be a deal breaker.

As long as everything is kept out in the open, I think that these relationships can work.

In fact my first two ex husbands and I pretty much bonded over our screaming liberalism in the Deep South. Mr. Bear is far less loud about it but he literally puts his money and effort where his mouth is.

I have enough trouble being related to a whole bunch of them.
