I'm going camping tomorrow.

Some friends and I decided we all needed some time off, so we're loading up the tents and heading out tomorrow for the weekend. Do some hiking, canoeing, and firepit cooking (they'll be making cheeseburgers, I'll be whipping up some black bean burgers).

Anyone have any good camping stories or ideas of things to do while out?

I'm a vegan, so I don't eat meat, but black beans, bread, and the right spices and sauces perfectly emulate the texture and taste of beef without the meat.

Hiking is a bunch of our fun, with the camera.

Also, we take poker chips and play made up poker games.

Collect leaves and rocks. lol!

And a whole bunch of relaxing.

Here's our last trip. Getting ready for another in three weeks.

Not the roughest place I've camped (the Cascades hold that position), but the trails are still fun for the group of camping newbies I'm going with.

I've never actually been to the Smokies. It is on my bucket list along with Zion and Yellowstone.

To me, any time you are out in the wide open, is the best.

Yellowstone is on our list, and the Cascades. We haven't been to that part of NC yet, but inteed to.

Hope you have a great time on your trip!

Do they still have the hiking paths rated by difficulty? I lived out in Western Indiana in 1980.

My friends made the reservations before they asked me to come, but I'll suggest Shades next time. I've seen it, it really is nice.
