That's it. There is no hope for the world.

First, I saw someone texting -- at a urinal. Bad enough.

Today, I heard someone in a bathroom stall -- obviously there to "do business" -- blasting music out of his iPod (or generic equivalent) headphones at top volume. Music to $#!% by ?

WTF is wrong with people ? Doesn't anyone embarrass anymore ?

they or their conversations (or texts) or so damn important that it can't wait. Most of the conversations I hear (because they talk so damn LOUD) are:
arguments
gossip "Well, I heard.."
trash talk "Did you see her haircut?!!"
grocery store questions "They don't have that kind.."
really bad arguments
making plans "No, I don't wanna go there..."

I don't mind the grocery store questions, but don't stand in the middle of the aisle and look annoyed when I want to get by with my cart. The rest of them happen in places where people around the talkers can't get away from them.

My husband and I were taking a walk one day and we had to wait for the light to change to cross. A woman was already there and was talking trash really loud. We waited a little way back from her to give her privacy - or at least the appearance of it. She looked vaguely familiar. When she turned to the side, we recognized her from a party a few months ago. Then we knew exactly who she was trashing! My husband said "Oh shit!". She turned around and turned about 10 shades of red. I didn't run right home to call the other woman. But when I saw her I did tell her to watch her back.

Be careful people. You just never know who's around.

the car repair shop. This was before everybody and their brother had a phone and it wasn't a normal conversation. It was a private family matter and the person was practically shouting at the person on the other end of the phone. I argued that it would have been equally rude if this person was having a shouting match like this with someone in the room especially given the nature of the topic. But I was told I was the one with the problem.

Today, I barely notice these calls unless they are overly loud and I cannot escape hearing it.

obviously none of my business type conversations. Most of the very loudest ones are those in your ear doodad phones. I don't bother complaining to anyone.

The last time my husband and I went for dinner there was a couple next to us that said about 10 words to each other. They spent 90% of their time texting or talking to others on their phones. It made me sad for them.

And then I wash my hands.

I am not bothering anyone by texting.

I don't see what the big deal is.
