What face would be recognized by the most people if the image were shown around the globe?
I'm thinking probably Mao, simply because of the sheer number of Chinese.

(68,644 posts)Due to the exponential increase in technology and the great number of younger people who, worldwide, might not learn anything about Mao.
OTOH, by sheer population in China, Mao is a good bet.

Contemporary and alive? I'd say Dalai Lama, President Obama and Vladimir Putin.

at least those who watch movies.
I would hope it would be Mao but there might be lots of young persons who weren't alive when his photos were in the news, who don't bother looking at historic photos, and might not know him.
