between Pikeville and Canada; I think I heard of Pikeville, once.
You sure do get around, tho' Meta probably isn't your top vacation pick.

Seriously, here is the true story ...

turned off the light, closed my eyes and felt the first bite. We thought it was a mosquito bite. Tried to sleep again .... for less than 5 minutes, cause I was getting eaten alive. We got dressed and left. Jeff said I looked like I was about to go over the registration desk when I demanded my money back at the Danial Boone Inn in Pikeville, KY. The board of health sent an investigator out the next day because I called in a complaint. I'm waiting for my copy being delivered by snail mail.

I was in FLorida last week at a writers' conference and one poor girl came in COVERED with bites. She also changed hotels and complained, and insisted that they do something (I'm not sure what) to ensure she didn't take the little bastids back to her own bed.

I itch just thinking about it.

9. We were lucky that night. We were too tired to bring anything into the room with us.

We were on the phone with the board of health several times. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't something carrying an illness needing treatment. All I needed was Benadryl cream for two days. We counted 9 bites. Guess I was lucky to have become aware so quickly. Jeff didn't have a reaction at all.

I've been through that part of Kentucky. It's not necessarily a hell-hole, but if one was there, all he would need is a shovel.

I'm so glad you made it out of there...

I was part of a funeral detail dispatched from Ft. Knox for a recently deceased WWII veteran.

The place was a little scary; I sort of more or less expected a Hatfield or a McCoy to jump out at me from behind a rock any minute and start blasting away...

What a tough trip you had.

And bedbugs!

Thanks for the song. I hadn't heard it before, and I loved it.

Jeff just informed me that we may be going back for another compressor skidder to bring natural gas up to the surface. The trip should have only taken 4 days. I believe the next load is going across the river into Ohio.

We found a great little place for our last two nights on the road. The Wells In in Sisterville, W Va. It's under renovation and totally charming. A full breakfast is included with your room. They had Tiffany style lamps in our room.

It's nice to see you here at DU again.
