Tomorrow, I will be buying some hearts (payday, YAY!). Great idea that I hope we can continue with other holidays and causes.
BUT...
All the people I was thinking of giving one have too many. So, I thought, I'll just hand them out randomly to folks that don't have any. BUT...what if I inadvertently give one to a FReeper troll who just happens to say something normalish and catches me off guard? The next day, POOF! he's been vaporized along with my heart.
I came up with the solution. Tomorrow, I'm handing out hearts to the people here that irritate me. I might even end up giving one to one of the 4.5 people that are ignoring me. Let's face it, even people in our lives that annoy us can make us laugh, provide us with thinking material or even come up with a good idea occasionally.
I'm glad this only took 6 hours of contemplation unlike the 6 months it's taken to find a surround sound system or the 4 months it's taken to pick out blinds. The husband is a patient man.

(8,492 posts)I'm not sure if someone gave me mine out of pity or hatred.

(12,272 posts)I have never seen you post anything that would elicit hatred or pity
I'm going to post this comment on my FB so my friends and family will appreciate me more.

(12,272 posts)I am just not, sorry. In my experience, people really don't show appreciation for something/someone until you take it/them away. Then, when people are too nice to me, I think something is up.

(8,492 posts)I've lost a lot of people the past few years and I should have been more involved in their lives. I'm one of the guilty ones. Now, I look through pictures and think of all the things I never said. The things we never did that we had dreamed/schemed.

(12,272 posts)whomever it was that gave me heart.
I've had a very bad day, spent most of it with my critically ill husband in the ER.
That heart just made my day. Thank you to whomever you are! I am really touched by your gesture.
I would hope that it wasn't given to her out of malice, but it wouldn't make a difference, as hearts are a symbol of love and that is how she interpreted it. I am going to assume that some people like me, even though some of my favorite posters have left DU, some are still here.

(8,492 posts)The thing with the trolls, how awesome is it to donate in a round-about way to PP in a FReeper's name?
But, sadly, I couldn't find any trolls this morning.
Edit to add: I also thought I should hunt down all the Patriots avatars and give them one.

So I will only give hearts those without and I although I love the ones given to me - I don't need anymore - donate to those without!

I would like to apply for one of your hearts. Please define "irritate".
This?
This?
This?
Would poking you with a stick work? I have a smilie for that at home - I can add it later.
I am a woman of many talents. Surely I can find a way to "irritate" you without crossing over into "annoy". Annoy would be bad.
