The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support Forums"Cattywampus" or "catterwampus" (or "kittywampus")?
I have apparently started a flame war on Facebook by asking this, so I turn to the Lounge as the only sober, mature, reflective deliberative body left in the world.
(For people from north of Philly or so: yes, people really say it. It's different from "kitty-corner", which just means diagonally opposite; cattywampus/catterwampus means flopped down in the middle of the floor, possibly drunkenly.)
"Kittywampus" is wrong, but I'm including it anyways to weed out the bad answers.

(12,158 posts)here in western Nebraska I've always heard it said "kittywampus."
Oh, and I've always heard "catty-corner" more often than "kitty-corner."
Speaking of cats, I say "catsup" instead of "ketchup," but I don't recall who else around these here parts do.
