(43,049 posts)I'm guessing there are a lot of alerts on those people who are ignoring me, and more'n likely have me on their jury blacklists.

(26,117 posts)does that mean I spend too much time here?
But seriously, I think the recent changes by Admin have cut down on juries, in general.

(23,350 posts)of course I just made that up. I have no idea how many times I was in the majority.
But it would be an interesting additional statistic.
Where's META when I need it?

(666 posts)Hi, I'm obviously new at DU and I am wondering how one is notified if they are selected for a jury, will I receive a PM? What happens if I am selected but don't see it in time to serve? Just trying to figure out how things work here, thanks in advance for any helpful replies.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,371 posts)A large block will appear that will indicate you have been selected to serve. The software is designed so that the notices should only appear when you reload or refresh forums, or moving between forums, such as going from the Lounge to General Discussion.
BTW, Welcome to DU!

After a decade of judging people's posts, I needed the opportunity to not do it for a while.

(82,383 posts)I haven't been on a jury in weeks though. Is it possible to be disqualified without knowing it?
petronius
(26,602 posts)you've gotten in the previous 90 days. So, the likelihood of being on a jury can decline to 0% even if you haven't set your willingness to 'No.' That chance of being selected is shown on your profile page...
treestar
(82,383 posts)2000 or more total posts: +20
200 or more days of membership: +20
20 or more posts in the last 90 days: +20
Not a Star member: +0
4 posts hidden in 90 days: -80
TOTAL: 0
I didn't remember having four posts hidden in the last 90 days. 50 days since the last hidden post, though I guess 50 days from the first one will gain 20 point.
Weird.
petronius
(26,602 posts)The other big change is that, starting in late December, anyone who has 5 or more hidden posts showing on their transparency page (i.e., hidden in the preceding 90 days) will be prevented from posting until enough hidden posts expire to bring the number back below 5.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1013&pid=2863
So anyone who has racked up 5 hides since Sept 25 is going to temporarily drop out of sight around Dec 23...
but I am not a star member.

(3,065 posts)I have a life outside of DU. I don't make a ton of money. So on the good juries I sometimes scalp my jury ticket to put gas in the car. Is that wrong?
