because that was his favorite treat. He weighed around 20 lbs of nothing but muscle, claws, and teeth. They had to send Pickle away after he killed a neighbor's German Shepherd.

Not all that remarkable for a large tom. The dog only outweighed him about 3 times. Easy mark. And it was a male too.

Those dogs aren't stupid. They know the odds.

But then I had a similar situation far out in the desert. I had a quarter Bobcat who basically fended for himself. Or maybe he had me. Never could be quite sure which.

So it's possible there's something not quite right about me either. When we first brought Sawbuck home as a tiny kitten, he started letting out these Bobcat screeches at bedtime, so I tucked him under the sheets with my 3-yr-old son. They absolutely loved each other. Sawbuck was snuggled up asleep before I tiptoed out of the room.
