up with kids' sock in my dry load and I don't have any kids. I've heard the theory that when I find a sole sock it is just lint that got together and formed a new sock.... it is not missing.

(49,445 posts)The garden gnomes and the lawn jockies collect them so they can make effigies of you to burn after you run one of their number over (again) with the lawnmower because it's hot, beer is good, and who cares if you ride a motorized vehicle fitted with sharp, spinning steel blades while wearing only your underwear, anyway?
Real answer?
The missing socks are probably cemented to the inside of the washer tub during the spin cycle and you simply miss them because they're behind one of the baffles or just inside the rim where you can't see them unless you crawl in with a flashlight.

If your washer doesn't drain into a laundry tub, just think of all the socks dancing in the world's sewers.
