Peppermint schnapps is the right way to go, but as you said, it's too cold to go anywhere, and I don't have any in the house...

Mr. Bear has gotten to be quite the mixologist this past couple of years. I love me a surprise cocktail (just let it lie, Lounge...) but only now and again can I succumb.

I've been meaning to try it. Does it taste like honey at all?

I didn't like it at first, but it grows on you. I like it far better than wine, which to me just tastes like sour grapes. It wasn't at all what I imagined, though.

The first couple glasses of the first bottle I tried had a hint of vinegar plus honey. It may have been that bottle or that brewer. Now I find when I first open the bottle I can smell a little vinegar, but if I let it "air" out, that disappears. And I can always smell a hint of honey.

18. I've had Polish mead before and it was extremely sweet like honey

It tasted super sugary like honey, but with a slight alcohol taste. The sweetness would kind of take over after a while, so I could never finish a glass.

Fortunately, a local distiller making cider puts out a fairly dry apple cider, and a moderately dry pear cider. Yummy!

Back to drinking way too much diet soda. But damn is it addictive, gulp gulp gulp!!!

Trying to drink less alcohol, binge drinking alone isn't good for you when you are depressed.
