The E-Street Band was a musical excellence award.

The controversy this year will be that Deep Purple was passed over again.

I'm thrilled to see Peter Gabriel on the list, and very disappointed that Yes was passed over.

Who are they kidding?

Nirvana is not "Hall Of Fame material."

Nirvana was just another MTV-manufactured attempt to be "trendy."

In reality, they suck.

Nothing but shit shoveled in our faces, no wonder "classic" rock (which including the bland MTV stuff from the 1980's) was doing so well.

Was just a circus act IMHO.

Speaking of defining an era, Yes not only sold tons of albums, but packed arenas too.

The RRHOF continues to prove what a joke it is.

Nirvana was a bunch of MTV-manufactured talentless hacks.

Yes had Rick Wakeman.

Sorry but Nirvana was huge. They opened the door for countless grunge/ alternative bands, many of whom are still relavent today.

Rush is not enough to make us Prog Rock fans happy!

Get Yes in there.

And while you're at it add in Jethro Tull, Moody Blues and King Crimson to name a few!

Even though that bias subsided somewhat with the Genesis and Rush inductions it's still there.

Even going forward, I'd be surprised if more than one prog band is even up for nomination per year.

My guess is that the only remaining bands that even have a chance at induction would be Yes, Tull and King Crimson as the Moody Blues seemed to be only slightly less critically reviled than ELP.

I mean seriously...Hall and Oates? They didn't influence anyone or do anything cutting edge. They just regurgitated lukewarm 80s pop crap ad naseum.

Maybe I need to review the rules of induction.
