I just wiped out big time on my bicycle.
I must have skidded on my side a few feet and one of my shoes came off. I think that's what happened. I was picking up steam in a four way stop and I think my foot came off the petal. Pretty banged up and pretty sure I'll be bruised up on my right side. My helmet kept me from cracking my head open on the street.
I just laid there for a minute and got help from people passing by.
ow I need a kiss to make it better....

Feel better soon, OK?
Thank goodness you were wearing your helmet.

(585 posts)I took a nasty spill on a bike back in 1992. It was awful, so I can imagine what you're going through.

(12,325 posts)One near my right elbow. And a real nasty one on the inside of my right leg above my knee must of been caused by the bike seat. I'm just going to lay back in my recliner and take it easy for the rest of the day.

Glad to hear you wear a helmet. Hope you didn't get road rash on top of it all.

(10,103 posts)Gentle hugs, a kiss, and a libation of your choice.....may you recover quickly. I suggest arnica cream....it does help heal the bruises!

My last excursion off the bike literally tore the elbow to pieces. I now own a titanium strip with 6 titanium sheetwall screws holding my elbow together. Good times....

(251 posts)I've had at least 5 bicycle accidents where I've injured something, including 3 accidents where I severely scraped my back and arm, one accident where the front wheel came off as I was trying to jump over a curb, and one accident where I flipped over and cut a gash in my forehead. So, you have my sympathies.

(10,110 posts)Hey,
As I compulsive biker myself, wiping out sucks. I'm glad you are relatively okay, and even more glad that you had a brain bucket on. I hope you use this incident to promote helmet use.
Peace

(12,325 posts)and really starting to feel the pain. Bad bad bruise on my inner left thigh that wraps around my leg to back. That must have been because of the bike seat. I had to straighten it after the fall. The left ankle is also bruised, but it doesn't hurt. My rib and right thigh hurt the most. Sure glad I didn't break my hip.
I'm really thinking now that the chain came off. I had to put it back on before taking off after the fall. It was wedged tight under the sprocket. I normally have it set on the largest sprocket at the wheel.
later,
and thanks

If you have any arnica gel, that is good for bumps and bruises (but not cuts or scrapes).
