(585 posts)I still love all the old Christmas songs, even though I'm no longer a Christian. Some of my favorites were:
"O Holy Night" (wish I could sing this one, but my range is too narrow)
"Go Tell It On the Mountain"
Schubert's "Ave Maria"

(22,897 posts)"O Holy Night" is a difficult one to sing -- and it's so beautiful. Just magical.
Literally gives me goose bumps
Lots of others I love-- mostly the traditional ones
Hate the commercial ones ("Here Comes Santa Claus," etc.)

Can't stand that song.

(10,337 posts)And enrolled in the music class because I really wanted to learn to read music. The teacher was a dolt and in three years, all I ever learned was the first three bars of the aformentioned good king. What a waste! i hate that piece!
Edited to add that Carlos Santana was in the class above me.
