(149,635 posts)For me, I would watch Wolf of Wall Street.
I don't know the other picture...
Enjoy, whichever one you settle on!

Especially if you skipped the candy and soft drink concessions...

(56,828 posts)American Hustle is getting better reviews. However, I don't know of anybody who has seen either.

(31,173 posts)Great acting, fun script -- a blast from the late 1970s. Two thumbs up.

(6,154 posts)Think goodfellas light. I wasn't around during the 70s but it sure seems like one of the best recreations of that era I've ever seen, though a bit on the exaggerated side at times. Great acting all round and some interesting casting choices. Hard to take your eyes off Amy Adams, those dresses she wears, only to be overshadowed by her fantastic acting!

(5,675 posts)Wolf is way too long. "Excessive character development" were their words, I recall. But probably not too much for the Leo lovers...

(31,392 posts)DiCaprio is terrific. Wolf is LONG, very long, and could have used some
serious editing. It's all drugs, sex, booze, sex, drugs, illegal
financial dealings, booze, drugs, sex. And did I say sex, drugs, booze?
American Hustle is a great work of ensemble acting from Amy Adams,
Christian Bale, and Bradley Cooper. I do
object to Adams being costumed totally out of character
for a business woman of the late 70's pretending to be a Brit
with a title. The men's costumes were spot on.
I don't think either of them will turn out to be a best picture winner,
but I suspect they'll both be nominated.

(46,436 posts)We ended up going with Wolf and enjoyed it very much. Yes, it was long, but never boring. Leo is awesome.
