I saw it last night. It's billed as a week in the life of a folk singer in 1960's Greenwhich Village. It's got some fantastic acting, especially Oscar Isaac as Llewyn Davis, the aformentioned folk singer. I thought the songs were excellent too, but with T. Bone Burnett doing the music, I knew I wouldn't be disapointed. There's also a cat that Llewyn Davis kinda gets stuck with and the cat bascially becomes a main character in the story.
It really is one of those "day in the life of..." movies as you follow him around Greenwhich Village and other locales struggling to make it as a folk singer. The people I went with thought it was slow and it kinda is, though the music and great acting make up for it. The title is apt, however: you spend a week inside Llewyn Davis and see what makes him tick and how he lives his life. If you like folk music and the 1960's folk scene or just like "day in the life of..." movies, then I'd definitely reccomend this movie.

Hopefully it won't disappoint.

(11,760 posts)I saw it night before last. I liked it, but I appreciated it more than I liked it if you get my drift. I was more affected than entertained and it will bear watching a few more times........
Take away line from the Movie for me: "WHERE'S THE SCROTUM?"
